A 12-gauge round is left as shrapnel after being shot from a percussion actuated nonelectric disrupter to safely dispose of a simulated explosive device during an explosives range for U.S. Marine Corps explosive ordnance disposal technicians stationed on Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, California, Nov. 20, 2024. A PAN disrupter is utilized to safely dispose of an explosive device in a secured environment. EOD units from Marine Wing Support Squadron (MWSS) 373, Marine Air Control Group 38, 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing and Headquarters & Headquarters Squadron, MCAS Miramar train together in live ranges to upkeep a professional standard.
