Retired U.S. Marine Corps Maj. Gunnar Spafford, deputy vice president of business development with Toys for Tots, holds a certificate of commendation for the city of Los Angeles prior to the start of the 92nd Hollywood Christmas Parade in Hollywood, California, Dec. 1, 2024. The mission of the Toys for Tots Holiday Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys, books, and other gifts and distribute them to less fortunate children at Christmastime. The Hollywood Christmas Parade is an annual American parade held on the Sunday after Thanksgiving in Hollywood; it follows a 3.5-mile route along Hollywood Boulevard, then back along Sunset Boulevard, featuring various celebrities.
