Members of the 168th Wing pose for a photo at the Salvation Army in Fairbanks after volunteering together to help the Salvation Army sort and wrap gifts for Operation Santa Claus delivery to Circle, Alaska., Nov 4, 2024. Airmen from the 168th Wing volunteered with the Salvation Army to sort and wrap gifts for the Operation Santa Claus delivery to Circle, Alaska. Operation Santa Claus is an annual Alaska National Guard community outreach program that provides Christmas gifts, books, and school supplies to children in rural Alaskan communities. This year marks the 69th year of the program, which began in 1956 after the village of St. Mary's experienced a year of hardship and the Alaska Air National Guard flew in gifts and supplies donated by the local community. Circle, Alaska, was selected as a beneficiary of this year's mission due to severe flooding that recently impacted the community. (U.S. Air National Guard photo by Senior Master Sgt. Julie Avey)
