A service member from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force asks a U.S. Army medic about a walking blood bank during a trilateral medical training event during Yama Sakura 87 at Camp Asaka, Japan, Dec. 3, 2024. During this iteration of the exercise, participants from the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force and Australian 1st Division will train alongside service members and leaders from America's First Corps, U.S. Army Japan, U.S. Army Reserve and U.S. Army National Guard. This Total Army and Joint environment will include service members from III Marine Expeditionary Force, U.S. Navy Pacific Fleet, and the U.S. Air Force 1st Air Support Operation Group as well.
