Brother Bruce is a Guam-based telecommunications expert who has volunteered with OCD for four decades, operating radios to coordinate airdrops and facilitate communications with the pilots for their entire flight as they conduct their mission over these remote islands. OCD is the Department of Defense’s longest running humanitarian airlift mission and this year over $117,000 has been raised resulting in 110,000 pounds of donated gifts and supplies. C-130 aircrews from the U.S. 374th Airlift Wing’s 36th Airlift Squadron, the Japanese Air-Self-Defense Force, the Republic of Korea Air Force, and the Royal Canadian Air Force will fly a combined 42 sorties, dropping 220 boxes to 60 islands supporting 22,000 islanders in Micronesia.
