U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Carson Mistal, an intelligence surveillance reconnaissance systems engineer, left, and Cpl. Shae Hisaw, a defensive cyberspace warfare operator, both with the 3rd Radio Battalion, 31st Marine Expeditionary Unit, set up a field expedient antenna during a sensory expeditionary advanced base operation exercise at Ie Shima Training Facility, Okinawa, Japan, Dec. 9, 2024. The exercise reinforced Marines’ abilities to gather maritime and airspace intelligence by employing radars and relaying the information back to commanders. The 31st MEU, the Marine Corps’ only continuously forward-deployed MEU, provides a flexible and lethal force ready to perform a wide range of military operations as the premier crisis response force in the Indo-Pacific region. Mistal is a native of Florida and Hisaw is a native of Indiana. (U.S. Marine Corps photo by Cpl. Tyler Andrews)
