U.S. Navy Capt. Laurie Scott, commander of Naval Facilities (NAVFAC) Southwest, and key personnel toured the Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) during a visit, Aug. 2, 2024. Scott met with NPS personnel on developments for the Naval Innovation Center (NIC) and the upcoming NAVFAC Southwest Industry Day hosted on campus. The NIC at NPS will be a leading military education facility focused on innovation and experimentation, supporting Navy and Marine Corps warfighting development, and partnering with the defense industry, tech sector, and academia. NPS is located in Monterey and provides defense-focused graduate education, including classified studies and interdisciplinary research, to advance the operational effectiveness, technological leadership and warfighting advantage of the Naval service.
