Crew supervisor Kelley Anderson uses a dump truck to transport riprap material to the erosion control project site at Canton Lake, Dec. 30, 2024. The crew lays down three to four inches of material, compacts it, and repeats the process until they achieve nine inches of compacted material at 85% compaction. Each time the material reaches 2,000 tons of sand; an independent company tests the compaction ratios. The large riprap rock is the final layer of erosion control applied by the team.
