During 1st Infantry Division (ID) command post exercise (CPX) at Fort Riley, Kansas, in November 2024, the unit leveraged its newly integrated prototype commercial network on-the-move capabilities in preparation the Army’s Armored Formation Network On The Move (AFN OTM) Pilot II, to be conducted during the unit’s combat training center (CTC) rotations later in fiscal year 2025. To support the pilot, the Army partnered with industry to integrate a wide variety of commercial OTM network capabilities onto the 1st ID’s Joint Light Tactical Vehicles (JLTVs), seen here, and Humvees. However, the intent is for the design to be a modular kit that can be incorporated into multiple platforms. (U.S. Army photo by Maj. Edgardo Rivera, Project Manager Tactical Network, PEO C3N)
