ARLINGTON, Va. (Jan. 15, 2025) Vice Adm. Brendan McLane, commander, Naval Surface Forces, left, and Rear Adm. Joseph Cahill, commander, Naval Surface Force, U.S. Atlantic Fleet, right, present an independent duty corpsman of the year award to Chief Hospital Corpsman Christopher Duke, assigned to the Arleigh Burke-class guided-missile destroyer USS Porter (DDG 78), as the Atlantic fleet awardee at the Surface Navy Association’s (SNA) 37th National Symposium. The symposium brings together joint experts and decision-makers in the military, industry, and Congress to discuss how the Surface Force is a critical element of national defense and security.
