A UH-1N Huey helicopter provides air support for a maintenance convoy at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont., Jan. 28, 2025. Designed for versatility, the Huey is a light-lift utility helicopter that supports numerous mission types. It is primarily tasked with deploying emergency security forces, safeguarding off-base nuclear weapons convoys through surveillance and transporting distinguished visitors. Furthermore, the Huey is utilized in disaster relief efforts, search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, airborne cable inspections, aircrew survival training, aerial testing and routine transportation to missile sites.
