NORFOLK (Feb. 13, 2025) Aviation Electronics Technician 3rd Class Marc Green, assigned to the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1), uses the Naval Firefighting Thermal Imager to check for hot spots during an 8010 validation exercise, Feb. 13, 2025. The 8010 validation exercise evaluates the ship’s ability to respond to a major fire, and assesses the ship’s emergency teams, medical department, firefighting capabilities, and the crew's ability to integrate with external fire teams.
