U.S. Marine Corps Brig. Gen. Kevin Collins, commanding general of 3rd Marine Logistics Group, left, receives a capabilities brief on an industrial 3D metal printing machine during Collins’ visit to the Republic of Korea Marine Logistics Group headquarters at Pohang Naval Base, Pohang-si, South Korea, Feb. 24, 2025. Collins met with ROKMC Col. Shin, KyungWon, commanding officer of the ROK MLG, to learn about the structure and capabilities of the unit, followed by a tour of its supply, maintenance, and transportation battalions. They also spoke about the current bilateral Freedom Banner and Korean Marine Exchange Program evolutions and future training opportunities for both Marine Corps units both within and outside of South Korea. This year’s U.S./ROK training exercises have more U.S. Marine Corps personnel training with their ROK allies in-country than in the past seven years, speaking to the importance of strengthening warfighting and contingency response capabilities between the two countries.
