U.S. Army Sgt. Vetson Derisse, a track vehicle repairer with 1st Battalion, 38th Field Artillery Regiment, explains the functions of an M88 Hercules Recovery Vehicle during a vehicle cross-training event with U.S. Marines with Combat Logistics Battalion 4, Combat Logistics Regiment 3, 3rd Marine Logistics Group, during exercise Freedom Banner 25 at U.S. Army Garrison Casey, South Korea, Feb. 25, 2025. This training was conducted to familiarize both units with the unique equipment each force utilizes, providing mutual understanding and enhancing cohesion between the Marine and Army units for future joint operational effectiveness. Freedom Banner 25 is a Maritime Prepositioning Force exercise where 3rd MLG offloads equipment and provides support to III Marine Expeditionary Force units training throughout South Korea, testing and validating 3rd MLG’s ability to conduct integrated logistics operations in a complex and contested environment.
