ISHIGAKI, Japan (Feb. 26, 2025) The Yaeyama Defense Association Chair, YONEMORI Hiroaki, provides remarks to distinguished visitors and guests at a welcome reception on the flight deck aboard the San Antonio-class amphibious transport dock ship USS San Diego (LPD 22), during a routine port visit in Ishigaki, Japan, Feb. 26. San Diego, part of the America Amphibious Ready Group (ARG), is operating in the U.S. 7th Fleet area of operations. 7th Fleet is the U.S. Navy’s largest forward-deployed numbered fleet, and routinely interacts and operates with allies and partners in preserving a free and open Indo-Pacific region.
