U.S. Air Force Senior Airman Lance Richards, Tactical Air Control Party Command and Control journeyman with the 116th Air Support Operations Squadron, 194th Wing, Washington Air National Guard, sets up a Tactical Scalable Mobile directional antenna on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Feb. 4, 2025. The 116th ASOS conducted an overnight field exercise, refining tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure seamless, secure communications in austere field environments. The communication networks and waveforms utilized for the exercise are designed to have minimal radio frequency signature while still establishing a network structure to send and receive information.
