U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Manuel Ramirez-Viduya, Tactical Air Control Party craftsman with the 116th Air Support Operations Squadron, 194th Wing, Washington Air National Guard, conducts reconnaissance training on simulated targets on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Wash., Feb. 4, 2025. The 116th ASOS conducted an overnight field exercise, refining tactics, techniques, and procedures to ensure seamless, secure communications in austere field environments. The exercise provided an opportunity to test endurance and equipment proficiency. Two Integrated Sensing and Effects Teams, consisting of 6-10 personnel, were deployed into the field where they worked in coordination with a headquarters element and Command and Control to relay position reports and simulated target information.
