A Norwegian soldier poses a question during a brief conducted by U.S. Army 41st Field Artillery Brigade Soldiers during a Vienna Document visit by senior officers from the Norwegian Armed Forces, the Georgian Defence Forces, and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina during Exercise Joint Viking 25 in Setermoen, Norway, March 7, 2025. First adopted in 1990 and most recently updated in 2011, the Vienna Document is a series of agreements between the participating states of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, of which the United States is also a participant, on confidence- and security-building measures related to military resources that was derived from the 1975 Helsinki Accords and the 1986 Stockholm Document. Exercise Joint Viking 25 is a multinational training event designed to enhance the U.S. Army's ability to collaborate with Arctic allies and respond effectively to crises in challenging terrains. The exercise involves U.S. soldiers and Marines, as well as personnel from Norway, the Netherlands, Finland, Germany, Denmark, and Great Britain. It emphasizes the development of cold-weather skills and fosters cooperation among allied forces. (U.S. Army photo by Spc. Sar Paw)
