250305-N-ML137-1141 MANGILAO, Guam (March 5, 2025) Rear Adm. Greg Huffman, commander, Joint Task Force - Micronesia, and other distinguished guests ceremoniously turn the soil during a groundbreaking ceremony for the Guam Public Health Training and Biosafety Laboratory Facility at the University of Guam, March 5. The facility will be the only biosafety laboratory in the Micronesia region and will enhance Guam’s ability to detect, prevent, and respond to health crises, reinforcing not only local capabilities but also regional stability. For 250 years, the Navy’s advantage has come from its people and its partnerships. By strengthening both, we ensure the region’s health and safety, which is vital to our national security.
