As the pistol match director, U.S. Army Maj. Ian Swisher with the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 28th Infantry Division, Pennsylvania National Guard in support of the Joint Multinational Training Group-Ukraine mission shares remarks following the conclusion of the competition and thanks all of the competitors who joined the event. The competition consisted of two events: a 30-yard slow fire match and a four-stage excellence-in-competition match whereby 10 percent of the top eligible competitors could earn career points toward the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge. U.S. Soldiers with the 2nd Cavalry Regiment and the 7th Army Training Command joined the 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team at the pistol competition, thus contributing to camaraderie among units, the opportunity to earn career points toward the Distinguished Pistol Shot Badge and improved readiness and lethality in marksmanship training.
