    Griffon Patch Pride

Maj. Gen. David Samuelsen, commanding general of the 108th Training Command (IET), Command Sgt. Maj. Christopher Luchsinger, and Command Chief Warrant Officer Misty Moeller show off their Griffon Patch Pride in a team photo with the 108th TC Headquarters Company. The unit’s nickname, “Golden Griffons,” was chosen after World War II because the griffon reflected the division’s initial capabilities as an airborne division, able to strike from both the air and the ground. Today, the griffon is a symbol of guardian protection that embodies the spirit of excellence exhibited by Army Reserve drill sergeants, who are a Pillar of Training and Readiness within the Total Army Ecosystem. The unit posed immediately following their battle assembly in Charlotte, North Carolina, on March 10, 2025.
