A National Naval Aviation Museum (NNAM) visitor looks at a history project March 11, 2025 made by Cmdr. Hunter Scott, executive officer of Consolidated Brig Miramar, during his time as a student at Ransom Middle School, at the NNAM in Pensacola, Florida. Scott, a Pensacola native, researched USS Indianapolis and amassed a collection of information, and with the help of then-Pensacola Congressman Joe Scarborough, introduced legislation in October 2000, successfully lobbying Congress to award the Naval Unit Commendation to the ships final crew.
