Brig. Gen. D. Rodger Waters, Nevada Adjutant General is presented with a "Quilt of Valor" by the Comstock Lode Quilters group at the Nevada Veterans and Military Day at the Legislature (VAMDAL), March 19, 2025 at the Nevada State Library & Archives in Carson City, Nev. Each quilt is a unique design, featuring patriotic colors. The quilts contain a personalized label with the veteran’s name, branch of service, as well as the engagements or war in which the recipient served. Five quilts were presented to individual veterans at the event.
VAMDAL is outlined in NRS 236.047. It designates the third Wednesday in March, when the Nevada Legislature is in session, "as a day of recognition for the contributions veterans have made to the prosperity of Nevada and the United States." The event is held by the Nevada Department of Veterans Services in partnership with the Nevada National Guard and the United Veterans Legislative Council (UVLC).
