NORFOLK, Va. (March 24, 2025) Aviation Boatswain’s Mate Airman Tifiana Campbell assigned to the Wasp-class amphibious assault ship USS Bataan (LHD 5) presents Major General John S. Gonzalez and the F/A-18 Hornet to the crew during the ‘Wings Over Waves’ naval heritage committee event on the barge mess decks, March 24. The event featured naval aviators throughout history through a presentation from Bataan’s Air Department and a cake cutting ceremony. Bataan is currently undergoing repairs while dry docked in the General Dynamics National Steel and Shipbuilding Company (NASSCO) shipyard.
