A makeshift alternative to vessel loops, created from sterile surgical gloves, rests in a surgical tray during an arteriovenous (AV) fistula surgery procedure during the Lesser Antilles Medical Team (LAMAT) 25 mission at Modern Medical & Diagnostic Center, Georgetown, Saint Vincent, March 17, 2025. When standard vessel loops were unavailable, the team improvised by cutting and stretching glove material to serve the same function. The adaptation allowed surgeons to safely manage vessels during surgery, showcasing the team's flexibility in a resource-limited environment. (U.S. Air Force photo by Staff Sgt. Adriana Barrientos)
