Koolaupoko High School with Team 9019, the Koolaupoko robotics team and Moanalua High School with Team 2348, the Mechahunes robotics team compete against each other at the Hawaii Regional FIRST Robotics competition held at Saint Louis High School in Honolulu, March 22, 2025. Volunteers from Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC) Hawaii, along with other U.S. Navy commands such as Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard and NAVFAC Pacific participated as mentors and coaches for specific high school teams. This year’s theme is “Reefscape,” inspired by the ocean and its diverse ecosystems encouraging teams to explore STEM and collaboration to innovate for a better world with healthy oceans.
