POINT MUGU, Calif. (Apr 3, 2025) Cmdr. Gerald Armstrong, relieved Cmdr. Randall Fields as commanding officer of Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) One One Five during a time-honored ceremony onboard Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu, Apr. 3, 2025. VAW-115 "Liberty Bells" operate the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the U.S. Navy's most advanced all-weather, carrier-based, tactical battle management, airborne early warning, and command and control aircraft. NBVC is major shore warfighting platform; providing sustained ready forces to deploy, fight, and win. Composed of three operating facilities: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme and San Nicolas Island and home of the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, 3 warfare centers and 110 tenant commands.
