POINT MUGU, Calif. (Apr 3, 2025) Cmdr. Gerald Armstrong, commanding officer, Airborne Command and Control Squadron (VAW) One One Five receives his command pin from his wife, during his change of command ceremony onboard Naval Base Ventura County (NBVC) Point Mugu, Apr. 3, 2025. VAW-115 "Liberty Bells" operate the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye, the U.S. Navy's most advanced all-weather, carrier-based, tactical battle management, airborne early warning, and command and control aircraft. NBVC is major shore warfighting platform; providing sustained ready forces to deploy, fight, and win. Composed of three operating facilities: Point Mugu, Port Hueneme and San Nicolas Island and home of the Pacific Seabees, West Coast E-2D Hawkeyes, 3 warfare centers and 110 tenant commands.
