Matt Holder reaches to catch a Small Unmanned Aircraft System, also known as an sUAS or a “drone,” following a March 5, 2025, demonstration of the device at Arnold Air Force Base, Tenn. The sUAS will soon be used at Arnold to perform asset health assessments. The device is equipped with both digital and infrared imaging capabilities and will be flown around installation buildings, plant facilities and associated equipment to ensure there are no compromises to such assets and to assess the structural integrity of facilities.
