Country music artist Lee Brice performs “I Drive Your Truck” during the dedication ceremony of the Jared C. Monti Soldier and Squad Research Facility, April 7, 2025, at Natick Soldier Systems Center, Massachusetts. Parked behind him is the truck that belonged to Sgt. 1st Class Jared C. Monti, which inspired the award-winning song written in Monti’s honor. Monti deployed with 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI) to Afghanistan, where he was killed in action on June 21, 2006, while attempting to rescue a wounded Soldier under heavy enemy fire.
