The Sgt. 1st Class Jared C. Monti Soldier and Squad Research Facility is dedicated to Monti, a Medal of Honor recipient, at the Natick Soldier Systems Center, Massachusetts, April 8, 2025. He deployed with 3rd Squadron, 71st Cavalry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (LI) to Afghanistan, where he was killed in action on June 21, 2006, while attempting to rescue a wounded Soldier under heavy enemy fire. He was posthumously awarded the Medal of Honor—the second 10th Mountain Division Soldier to receive the nation’s highest military honor. The training within the facility prepares Soldiers for the complexities of modern warfare and focuses on the individual Soldier’s and squad’s operational, cognitive, behavioral, nutritional, physiological and physical performance.
