Joan Schwarz-Wetter, a museum educator at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot Command Museum, uses a display to teach a group of Japanese visitors about key World War II battles during a Tomodachi in San Diego 2013 tour of the museum. The Japan Society of San Diego and Tijuana provided an opportunity for citizens of Kesennuma, Japan, to personally thank the Marines and sailors who provided humanitarian aid for them during the Operation Tomodachi rescue and relief efforts of 2011.
