Medically retired Staff Sgt. John Jones (Left), shares the story behind his famous photo held up by Lt. Col. Mitchell Bell, the reserve support officer for 8th Marine Corps District, Feb. 7, 2013, at the Metroplex Marines' monthly meeting, in Carrollton, Texas. Jones visited the Metroplex Marines to talk about his long road to recovery after losing both legs due to a blast from a double-stacked, anti-tank mine in Anbar province, Iraq, and to talk about the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation, where he now works as a representative for special projects.
