Sgt. 1st Class Joe Baker, a civil affairs team leader and a native of Fort Stockton, Texas, assigned to Company A, 448th Civil Affairs Battalion, United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command located at Fort Bragg, N.C., records the concerns of local community members in Abu T'shir May 21 about sewage seeping from a broken pipe into a stagnant pool around their neighborhood. Soldiers from the 7th Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, Multi-National Division ? Baghdad, escorted Baker and his team of civil affairs specialists through the Abu T'shir community, where the civil affairs team conducted multiple assessments and atmospherics with residents of predominately Shia community to determine what coalition forces working with the government of Iraq can do to meet their needs.
