Travis Getz, owner of Squadron Store, a company specializing in military support artwork, unveils an artist’s proof of his poster design for the North Carolina National Guard’s Detachment 1, B Company, 2-151st Aviation Regiment during the unit’s family day celebration at North Cary Park, April 7. The design exemplifies the unit’s counter-drug and hurricane relief missions are referenced in the banner text which reads: “Evildoers & Citizens in Peril Be Advised… We’re Coming For You.” These themes are further symbolized by a dead snake and lightning bolt hidden in the owl’s wings. The owl is removing a snake from the flag, representing the Night Owls’ determination to counter threats to North Carolina citizens. This design highlights the unique missions flown by the aviators for their support of law enforcement and airborne search and rescue operations.
