Reginald "Hawk" Hawkins, of Team Arifjan, drives in for a layup after stealing the ball from Team Ali Al Salem Aug. 30 at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait. Hawkins was the highlight of the night on both ends of the court.
Operation Hardwood "hoops with the troops" is a double-elimination basketball tournament made up of teams of servicemembers from the eight Kuwait military camps. Each team is coached by an NCAA basketball coach, who flew over seas to coach and mentor the teams as well as visit with troops.
