Seaman Ramon Ortiz, a native of Grandville, Mich., signals the launch of a Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron 14 SH-60F Seahawk from the flight deck of the aircraft carrier USS Kitty Hawk. Carrier Air Wing 5 is doing carrier qualifications before their transfer to the nuclear-powered aircraft carrier USS George Washington later this summer. The Kitty Hawk is returning to the United States for decommissioning after 47 years of service, 10 of which have been in Japan.
