1st Sgt. Keith S. Butterfield, first sergeant, Headquarters and Support Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 22nd Naval Construction Regiment, skateboards behind his office at Camp Taqaddum, Iraq. Butterfield took up skateboarding again and uses it to inspire those who emulate him. "I teach hard work, discipline and how important it is to have an outlet for kids today," said the 42-year-old. Butterfield took a 24-year hiatus from skateboarding while he started a family and joined the Marine Corps, attributing his discipline and extreme amount of focus that he uses in the Corps, to his early days as a skateboarder in Santa Cruz, Calif.
