1st Sgt. Keith S. Butterfield, first sergeant, Headquarters and Support Company, 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 22nd Naval Construction Regiment, practices skateboarding on a makeshift platform he constructed. After a 24-year break from the sport, Butterfield has picked up his board again and has already been sponsored by several freestyle skateboarding companies. Butterfield took a break from the sport to start a family and pursue a career in the Corps. "I knew the Marine Corps would be there for me and my family as well," said Butterfield, whose own father served during the Vietnam conflict. Butterfield, 42, is from Santa Cruz, Calif., and is currently stationed at Camp Taqaddum, Iraq.
