    26th Marine Expeditionary Unit     

    Chief Warrant Officer 2 William Mueller, explosive ordance disposal detachment officer-in-charge from Appleton, Wis., assigned to the 26th Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU), teaches 26th MEU Marines about the Thor III electronic countermeasure system as part of a class on improvised explosive devices during an exercise in the 5th Fleet area of responsibility April 27, 2013. The 26th MEU is currently deployed as part of the Kearsarge Amphibious Ready Group to the 5th Fleet area of responsibility. The 26th MEU operates continuously across the globe, providing the president and unified combatant commanders with a forward-deployed, sea-based quick reaction force. The MEU is a Marine Air-Ground Task Force capable of conducting amphibious operations, crisis response, and limited contingency operations.
