Brig. Gen. AM Putranto, commander of the Tentara Nasional Indonesia Pusat Misi Pemeliharaan Perdamaian (TNI PMPP) and Maj. Gen. Gary Hara, deputy commander of the Hawaii Army National Guard, U.S. Army Pacific return salutes during the opening ceremony for the first annual Gema Bhakti, a table-top strategic planning exercise held at the International Peace and Security Center in Sentul, Indonesia, June 6. The goal of the exercise is to create a better understanding of the roles of key civil and military organizations in a disaster response and to develop a unified concept of operations and procedures during humanitarian assistance and disaster relief operations.
