Sailors and Sea Cadets from Navy Operational Support Center Phoenix gather in the rotunda prior to the Battle of Midway Commemoration Ceremony held June 7 at the Arizona State Capitol building in downtown Phoenix. The second annual ceremony honored servicemen who served during the battle and gave attendees an understanding of the strategic importance of the battle, which took place less than six months after the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, to the success of the war in the Pacific during World War II.
