Disabled by engine breakdown, the small freighter AL ZAHID had been floating off the Yemen coast for days when, on September 6, a Sea Lynx helicopter from the German frigate LÃ?BECK spotted the helpless ship about 25 nautical miles off the coast. After the German Navy crew repaired the dhow's engine and provided the dhow's crew with food and water, AL ZAHID continued on its course to Somalia.
