2Lt. Matthew Gill, from Scarborough, Maine, and Maj. Ihmed Mahomed Nhear, an Iraqi Border Patrol Guard, discuss a reconstruction project that will improve Iraqi Border Patrol around Rabiyah Gate, a main border crossing between Syria and Iraq. Multinational Forces are working with the Iraqi Border Patrol to improve security at the borders between the two countries. Iraqs leaders know that terrorists, weapons and money enter the country illegally across the border between Iraq and Syria. Once in Iraq, terrorists are attacking Iraqi Security Forces, Iraqi citizens and Multinational Forces in an attempt to disrupt the democratic process. Gill is from Company C of the 133rd Engineer Battalion, headquartered in Belfast, Maine, and is the Officer in Charge of the Rabiyah Gate border fort reconstruction project. The 133rd has been deployed to northern Iraq as a part of the Multinational Brigade-Northwest in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom II.
