A final safety checker gives a thumbs up, signaling it's safe for an F/A-18F Super Hornet assigned to the "Black Knights" of Strike Fighter Squadron 154 to launch from the flight deck aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis. Stennis and Carrier Air Wing 9 are conducting tailored ship's training availability off the coast of Southern California. TSTA is a three-phase evolution that incrementally enhances the ship's operating proficiency while simultaneously integrating the air wing.
