Sailors fight a simulated fire in Hangar Bay 3 during a general quarters drill aboard the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS John C. Stennis. GQ drills are conducted to train Sailors how to fight fires, flooding and other damage to the ship. Stennis and Carrier Air Wing 9 are conducting tailored ship's training availability off the coast of Southern California. TSTA is a three-phase evolution that incrementally enhances the ship's operating proficiency while simultaneously integrating the air wing.
