Emmanuel Ramirez, 332nd Expeditionary Civil Engineer Squadron, power production technician, lays out the turn buckles and spacers before driving four foot stakes into the ground to prevent the arresting barrier system from shifting during an emergency landing, March 12. The system is composed of a cable stretched out across the runway attached to a braking system that brings fighter aircraft to a smooth halt during emergency landings. Sgt. Ramirez is deployed form Peterson Air Force Base, Colo.
