During a trip to New Orleans, members of the West Virginia National Guard discovered a Marine who's 1995 blue Aerostar van's engine had been flooded by standing water in the roadway. Sgt. James M. Ross, a resident of Portland Ore., was trying to drive to Atlanta Ga., when the van's motor flooded. That's when 1st Lt. Shawn E. Pratt, front left, and Staff Sgt. Robert W. Wheeler came to the rescue. The pair hooked the stalled van to their Humvee and towed it to a nearby checkpoint where the Marine got more help from Soldiers on duty. hkat
