Marines with the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing band enjoy lunch at the 3rd MAW commanding general, Maj. Gen. Steven Busby’s residence aboard Marine Corps Air Station Miramar, Calif., July 9. The lunch was to show the commands appreciation for the band’s participation in the general’s Committed and Engaged Leadership initiative, which aims to empower noncommissioned officers with tasks they normally wouldn’t perform. The band’s role in the initiative is to plan and organize performances for monthly colors ceremonies, including skits and musical selections.
