Army Lt. Col. Jerry E. Baird Jr., commander of the North Carolina National Guard's 105th Military Police Battalion, and Army Command Sgt. Maj. Alpheus A. Haswell, the unit's senior enlisted leader, hand Danish Home Guard soldiers Army Achievement Medals for their success at the 29th Annual Golden Coyote Exercise held across southeastern South Dakota and eastern Wyoming. The leaders gave the Danish soldiers medals at a ceremony June 19. More than 3,500 fellow service members from 11 states and four nations trained together June 8-22.
